The list came out today, and I'm pretty excited to attempt to out watch my last year's self!
I watched 40/60 movies last year!
So, I've got QUITE a bit of work to do!
Especially because it wasn't easy trying to find theaters that were showing so many of the movies. Luckily I think the greatest distance I had to travel was about an hour away.
(So, not too terrible!)
So, without further ado, the list of Oscar-nominated movies, and my checklist of initial movies I've seen thus far!

I've been trying to tell myself that for the last week leading up to the day.
I think I was clinging to 22 because at 22, I was still in the stage of life when everything was so easy.
There were no adult responsibilities, SL (St*dent Lo*ns... I recently made a pact with myself that I'm not allowed to say those words anymore...), finding and working a full-time job.
What about life after 22 sounds fun?
Well... there are lots of fun things about being an adult.
Like, not having to do homework, which is an instant crowd-pleaser.
YAY FOR 23
I just need to stop thinking that I'm two years away from being 25...
And after 25... That means I'm 5 years away from THIRTY. Yes, THIRTY.
I thought I'd have a lot more accomplished at this point in my post-graduate life... But I have only just began.
As scary as growing up is, I'm so looking forward to the ride that is this life that I'm living... And I have some good feelings about the years to come!
Being in that post-graduate, twenty-something stage of life is really when they start rolling in faster than the speed of light...
It's almost as if every time I get on Facebook,
I see something like this:
And then all the love and congratulations from your Facebook friends, family, acquaintances, and random people you met at a party freshman year of college and got a friend request from the next day are coming in like crazy!
THE RING.
Does the ring really matter?
Even though Phoebe offers very nice suggestions, with an engagement tiara, or and engagement Revolutionary War Musket...
Chandler sticks with the ring!
But gosh, there are way too many types!
Good luck deciding on one...
THEN
THE SAVE THE DATES START ROLLING IN
I love these! They're so cute, and a helpful reminder!
My dad doesn't like these though...
I don't understand why... when I asked he started going into a huge rant and I just took the question back, because I didn't want to know anymore! (Haha)
But really! What's not to like?!
SHOPPING FOR GIFTS
(Bridal shower AND Wedding)
WHAT DO I EVEN BUY!?
So much stress!
I know there's a registry and that sure helps a lot... But what if everything on the registry is way out of my budget, or what if they actually didn't want something but forgot to take it off?
I'd hate for them to hate whatever it is that I buy...
Okay.
So it's time for the wedding...
If all the weddings you have in a season are going to be attended by the same people, that's even more stressful! You can't wear the same thing...
AND you can't match the bride, AND you don't want to accidentally match the wedding party...
Awk.
Sooo...
Picking out an outfit is so much work...
BUT THEN
You attend the wedding and have the greatest time ever with your best pals and it's actually a blast!
(Going back to the first point about seeing the announcements on Facebook...I really hope if the person getting married is your friend, you found out from them first before the rest of the social media world)
So, as of 8:10pm on Feb. 19, 2015, I still have 33 movies to go.
I'm being realistic with the fact that I know there's no way I'll be able to see all of them... There's no way... Unfortunately, so many of the movies haven't even been released, so there's no way I can see them! Oh well! I've seen more nominated movies now than I I've ever seen before.
I hate when I get fooled by Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama," and think I'm about to be graced by "Werewolves of London," by Warren Zevon...
Werewolves of London
VS.
Sweet Home Alabama
--------------------------------------------
Like, I know they aren't the same song. If you listen to each of them, right after another (the beginnings), you can hear the differences, but they are just soooo similar still.
It's so cruel when I'm listening to the radio & I get super pumped for 5 seconds and then realize "Werewolves of London" isn't the song that's actually playing... I don't care that SHA came first... WoL is better... Sry.
BUT! That's not even the worst part...
You know what's worse?
WHEN THE SONG IS NEITHER OF THE TWO.
That's right.
Sometimes you get double-fooled and the song is actually "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock...
If you go there, you can listen to a bunch of different songs that people have compiled that sound similar. There's a forum below where people comment & it's just really neat to see all the songs over the years that have been "copied."
